Happy 1st of November my classy followers! More importantly, though, happy birthday to my fiancé, Chris! I just wanted to dedicate a special post to him in honor of his birthday.
I am so lucky to be engaged to the most amazing man I could ever ask for! Chris, thank you for always being there for me and for loving me, caring for me, and encouraging me and my dreams. You are my absolute best friend and everything I have ever wanted in a man and so much more!
Happy Birthday, Chris! I love you!
Happy Halloween my classy followers! I hope you all had a fun and festive weekend filled with costumes, candy, and tricks & treats! Today, I am showing you the costume Chris and I decided to go for this year.
We decided to dress up as Brian and Claire from The Breakfast Club! While we know that these two characters were not a couple in the movie, we still wanted to have fun and dress up as two of our favorite characters from one of our favorite movies! (Plus, people always say that Chris looks like Brian; what do you think?!)
The Breakfast Club image is not mine. I found it at this link. *all rights go to owner, not me*
I hope you all enjoyed our Halloween costumes! Did you and your significant other dress up? If so, then comment what you were, along with a picture of your costumes!
"Spend a little more time trying to make something of yourself and a little less time trying to impress people"
Hello to all of you, my classy followers! I am SUPER excited to share my engagement photos with you! I love these images and my fiancé, Chris, was just such an amazing model, as always. What really makes these photos beautiful is the love between us that shines through.
I hope you all enjoy them, along with my key tips on how to prepare for your engagement photo session below:
My 5 Engagement Photo Tips:
1. Choose a Meaningful Venue.
The venue we chose was where Chris proposed to me back in July, which has been one of our favorite spots to go for a while now, so there was a deep meaning and love behind this place. Be sure to do the same and chose a meaningful place, whether it be where you were proposed to or another venue of key interest.
2. Save Money.
My mom, who is the most amazing photographer, shoots all of the images you see here on emilyehardt.com and she also took these photos. Find someone you know, whether it be a family member, friend, or even someone local that could give you a discount to take your pictures. As long as you have a decent camera, good lighting, and patients, then your photos will be beautiful.
3. Compliment Each Other.
As you and your love compliment each other personality wise, so too should you compliment each other outfit wise. Chris and I chose this turquoise hue to base our looks around, as we thought it went nicely with the venue. We decided not to match exactly, though, with the rest of our outfits, as we wanted the looks to still read modern. So, choose 1 color and keep the rest of your color palate neutral.
4. Timing is Everything.
Shoot your photos either early in the morning around 6am or in the evening around 6pm to get the best lighting. When it is super sunny, glares can happen; however, when you take the photos during these times, you get a much softer and romantic lighting. It is much more flattering and camera ready.
5. Have Fun!
These are your engagement photos, so make them your own! Every relationship is unique, so your engagement photos should be too! Chris and I had fun shooting a bunch of different poses and have some silly ones that we look at and say, "that's totally us!" That is the goal, to create lasting memories that you will cherish with your love eternally!
Happy 4th of July to you, my classy followers! I hope everyone has a safe, yet enjoyable 4th, of course in style! Not only is this day special because we won our independence, which I am so grateful towards all who fought then and fight now to continue to allow us to have freedoms we often take for granted, but also it is my 1 year anniversary of dating Chris!
I want to take a moment to say Happy 1 Year anniversary to Chris, as he is the love of my life and my absolute best friend. It is amazing to see how time flies when you are having fun, as he has just made me the happiest woman ever. He is always there for me through and with anything and everything and will do anything for me (like be on my blog!). Before he came into my life, I didn't know what true love was, but the moment we met and ever since then, I have found that our relationship is the definition of true love. Thank you for always being here for me my love! Happy 1 Year and here is to an infinite amount more to come!
