A great styling trick is to create an outfit by using several shades of the same color, which is called a monochromatic color scheme. Here's where the magic comes in with a monochromatic look; colors that are worn throughout an outfit in different shades of a single hue make you look longer and leaner. For this outfit I chose shades of blue starting with this dress, which has a great texture on it that lends a fashion forward detail to an otherwise simple piece. Tossing on a jean jacket also added another layer of blue to the look and a contrasting texture, while a dusty blue purse and aqua colored necklace tied in other shades of the hue. Neutral heels grounded the look and a gold watch and bracelet also kept the blue colors in check. What are your favorite ways to wear a monochromatic color scheme?
